DIA VIOU

In construction there are no insignificant details. Any work, big or small, every material are decisive for the quality of a building. This is something you learn from day one on the job. But you understand the real value of detail in practice, with experience.

I have been working in construction for more than 2 decades. During these years I saw many buildings rise from the ground, take shape, and be completed. This in itself gives great satisfaction to a constructor. But the emotion that prevails, the one that remains beyond the satisfaction of completing a project, is responsibility. The responsibility felt by anyone who constructs a building that will house the life of a person. This realization was decisive for my work. It shaped me as a professional and motivated me every day.

But there was something missing. The element that would add meaning to everything I had done up until then…

The time when I took my first steps in construction was also a period of development for Thessaloniki. New areas entered the map and took shape thanks to new constructions. Purely out of professional interest, I observed the elements used each time to denote building quality and contemporary style. Elements that were occasionally repeated, but which, before they could become established and become classics, got old with each new fashion.

The city was growing, the urban environment was changing, but it was not gaining in character.

I was looking for buildings in Thessaloniki that had a different style. The ones that hide in streets where you least expect. Buildings that stand out from one another, with a beauty that may have faded, but endures over time. I noticed the high ceilings, the wooden floors, the large openings, the materials like marble or natural mosaic. Elements that give a construction its stamp.

I gradually realized that if anything was missing from my work it was exactly that: the stamp. Not of the constructor, but of the object. The elements that make each building special and at the same time timeless. The uniqueness that, instead of clashing with the environment, interacts with it and enriches the urban landscape. I realized that in these buildings, life is an experience in itself.

These searches led me to the creation of Dia Viou Constructions. The mission of the company is the obvious, the creation of buildings that will be characterized by high construction quality. But buildings that, in addition to quality, will also have a timeless style. They will live with humans and evolve over time along with their needs.

The values that inspire us

A HOLISTIC APPROACH

Each building is part of a dynamic whole, an organic part of a system that is constantly changing. As such, it cannot be understood independently of the earth, the light, its environment, man. Its very existence determines and is determined by these elements and by the relationships among them, while the experience it creates is the result of the way in which these elements are balanced. In this way, each project becomes unique, just like the person who inhabits it.

INTEGRITY

Communication with the person who chooses us is based on transparency. The relationship with our partners is based on trust. Work has as its first priority the safety of life and health. Adherence to these inviolable principles guarantees that the result lives up to expectations.

TIMELESSNESS

The perfection of the construction has as its measure the detail.

The choice of excellent materials is the element that defines luxury. The value of a creation is judged by its timelessness. If you strip away the elements of design and technological advances, the way we build is unchanged from what it has always been. It obeys unchanging and universal needs and basic principles. These elements make a building timeless, give it spirit and soul. They are the codes that have always existed and will exist as long as humans create.
